Bringing an insouciantly cool vibe to ethical fashion is new Swedish/UK label Asa & Taneale. Using factories in Egypt that have been inspected and meet Fairtrade standards; Australian-born Taneale Hrymakowski and partner, Asa Jakobsson have been producing their luxe range of ethically sourced basics for men and women in 100% organic cotton for two seasons now. Currently stocked in some of the hippest boutiques in Sweden,they have gone from strength to strength, accumulating serious buzz along the way. Taneale’s design aesthetic is resolutely modern, borne out of a time designing for some of Australia’s biggest fashion names. Her playfully elegant yet edgy illustrations that grace their sexily cut range put paid to notions of eco-fashion being “boring, brown, and badly fitting.” We want to show the world that we need to look after our planet and you don’t need to dress down to do your bit. The chains are an assembly of mix metal:Sterling Silvers, Rose Gold,Coppers,Brass, with bits of African coil and often Italian Hand blown beads (two countries,while visiting,changed my life.) Each one is a one of kind and the twist..could be the magnetic clasps, that often act as both an adjuster and an adornment. I love to do custom orders and ship internationally.

I´m an artist from Gothenburg who work with paintings and textiles. I have an MFA degree in Textile art at HDK, Gothenburg. I have a background in the graffiticulture and therefore my works are kinda graffiti inspired. At CoD i present my smaller paintings and some rugs.

The Rome-based, Swedish/Italian designer duo Emeli and Diego have captured the attention of fashionistas all over the European underground scene. Emeli and Diego say they started making their own designs to “fill a black hole in the world of fashion that needed to be filled”. A call for a simple T-shirt with a vintage look and feel, and a print that is innovative and witty, encouraged them to get going. 5PREVIEW was born in January 2008 and, after previewing some of its designs on MySpace, got an enormous amount of positive feedback from across the globe, with people wanting to buy their designs. The T-shirts boast that well-worn sensation you normally only find in good quality shirts from vintage stores, and instead of being short and wide, they are long and slim. The inspiration is simplicity, noisy rock ‘n’roll/punk music and old posters with political slogans. The prints use well-known logos such as Chanel, or “holy” tourist hot spots in an ironic way – the Eiffel Tower or Colosseum upside down, for instance. Made by Noemi is an independent fashion label with focus on underwear and accessories.

The designer Noemi Ivanova, with roots in both Russia and Chile, lives in Stockholm, Sweden . Having always taken an interest in fashion and design, she lacked underwear that was both beautiful and comfortable, and thus established her own label in 2003.

Made by Noemi designs stand out by their unique combination of ingenious design paired with carefully selected materials. Noemi creates classic styles with a distinctive and original look, combining comfort and wearability with fashion. It is everyday luxury.

Timeless, conscious and stylish. For spring/summer 2008 has Pia Anjou, the designer for Once Upon A Time created a collection based on classical cutting in organic cotton material. Garments of a single colour or with two contrasting that dominates in black, off white or red. The inspiration comes from Vietnam, with straight lines and a rebellious attitude in a timeless design. Structured and non-structured materials has been mixed together with trimmings in contrasting colours, that makes a wonderful look. Feminine meets masculine with a design which have a breath of strenght and sexiness without being undressed. Some garments are made in unisexmodells, and can be used by enlightened women and courageous men.

Hege Henriksen graduated in Bachelor of design at College of Fine Arts, UNSW, Sydney in 2005. She is now based in her design studio in Oslo, where she designs and produces contemporary jewellery collections. The collections are inspired from diverse themes and are made with a focus on designing playful and distinctive shapes that communicates an elegant visual language. The unique pieces are made from sterling silver often in combination with perspex and silk thread and are available in a vast variety of colours.

Zukale&Huoviala is a fresh accessories and clothning label from
Finland. The world of Zukale&Huoviala is dominated by delicious colour
combined with original prints, humming birds fly, dices bounce and
cherry blossoms bloom in different products. So far the number one
thing has been hand coloured and printed tights and socks. Inspiration
fo products comes from a fantasy world where gentle absurdity of
everyday life rules.

Carl is a 21 year old male artist living in Sweden. He study art at the school of art in the town Gävle, and hope to get applied to one of the bigger art schools in Sweden. His work is expressive, colorful, playful, and somewhat of a nonsense-work. He usually paint on canvas or wood, but he also take stuff from his surrounding, like doors and other things. He like to use acrylics and oil-pastells, and to blend words and drawings, to make crazy wonderful poems! Everything means nothing is Carls motto.

This week the students at Konstfack and Forsbergs have started to display their examination projects. Also, Beckmans College of Design will tomorrow invite you to a fashion show. Nice! My programmers went to IKEA. I must wait until they come back to update the site. Well, it’s ok. I can sit here and wait.

After the weekend there will be some changes made on the front page! The Ad-Shop will also be finished to present some very interesting Web Shops. Today I drank the worlds most expensive cup of coffee at Espresso 124 and it tasted like the worlds best coffee! I’m a really coffee nerd and I can really enjoy a good cup of coffee.
